Why is there an Environmental Recycling Fee?


One day, your Aventon e-bike battery will reach the end of its useful life. When that happens, the battery must be handled and recycled properly to protect the environment, people, and property
Aventon partners with The Battery Network, an industry-wide battery recycling program, to ensure e-bike batteries are safely and responsibly recycled and kept out of landfills. To support this program, a $15 Environmental Recycling Fee (ERF) is collected where applicable.


This fee helps cover the administration of the battery recycling program, including:
-Certified battery recycling and safe disposal
-Recycling kits and safety materials
-Transportation and logistics
-Consumer education and compliance with recycling regulations


When it’s time to recycle your Aventon e-bike battery, simply drop it off at an Aventon authorized retailer participating in The Battery Network program.

 

* The E-bike Battery Recycling Fee may or may not apply depending on your shipping destination.

Get rid of it!

It makes the battery more expensive than what it should be!

To help clarify, this is a state-mandated recycling fee required for all lithium-ion batteries of this type. Because it is a legal requirement imposed by the state, it is outside of our control and cannot be removed or waived.

Mandatory "fee" is insane.

Charging these mandatory fees on top of their already expensive bike prices? No thank you, I'm buying a different brand.
