Summer Tech Updates 2026
Aventon's Smart Bike Ecosystem, powered by the Aventon Control Unit or ACU, is an integral part of our mission to give our riders the best riding experience possible. We've developed all sorts of new features for our riders, by people who ride. Tested by yours truly and our product team, we are proud to announce the newest package of Tech Updates for our ACU-equipped bikes!
The Features
This latest update delivers a bunch of features meant for you to get the most out of your Aventon ebike and better enjoy the ride. The July Tech Update contains:

These features are more than just cool specs on a blog, but have real application for all sorts of riders! Let's dig in.
Extended Boost Mode
Boost Mode is a feature that allows you to use up to 120% of your bikes max torque and power for a brief period of time. This feature gives our riders more power to get up gnarlier punches and through rougher terrain. Previously, this feature was limited to 30 seconds at a time. This extra time in Boost means you have more power to push past any obstacle!
Available on the Aventon Current ADV and EXP.
Ride Tune Adjustment via Bike Display
Ride Tune is our motor optimization system which allows our riders to tune their assist modes (Eco, Trail, Turbo, and Auto) to their liking. Motor response is a personal preference and customizability is a huge part of making sure your pedaling experience is the way you want to ride. Ride Tune was previously only available through the Aventon app, but this newest update allows riders to adjust their pedal assist modes directly on their on-board display.
Available on bikes with the A280 (Pace 5, Level 4 REC and ADV), and the Top-Tube Display (Current ADV and EXP), this feature allows you to adjust your pedal assist to the trail wherever, whenever.
Assist Ratio Adjustment
The Ride Tune menu will now show the assist ratio corresponding to each assist level. This gives riders a more data-driven view of power assistance while they configure their settings.
Available on the Aventure M, the Level 4 ADV, and Current ADV and EXP.
Enhanced Assist Ratio
The Ultro X provides up to 110Nm of torque and up to 400% of your output, read by the integrated power meter. Boost Mode gives up to 120Nm of torque and 600%. This means that the motor can be adjusted (via RideTune) to be more responsive to your pedal power. For example, if you were to put in 100 watts of power, the Ultro X would input a full 600 watts of assist for a total of 700 watts in a single pedal stroke. This is super useful in slower techy sections and short punches where quick power transfer is essential to make it through.
Available on the Current ADV and EXP.
Action Camera Status Indicator
The Action Camera Integration update allowed our riders to connect their GoPro or DJI Action series cameras to their Aventon Current and control their cameras directly from the handlebars. In this latest tech update, we have pushed a feature that will indicate if the camera is connected and whether or not it is recording. This is helpful if you're starting to record in a sketchier tech section or want to make sure the camera is rolling before hitting a gnarly descent.
Our engineers have also made it possible for video recording to be enabled and disabled from the top tube display.
Available on the Current ADV and EXP.
Updated Ride Report
The Aventon App Ride Report is one of the app features that has been updated the most over the past few updates, now including features like Air-Time Tracking for the Current riders. This new iteration of the Ride Report now features three new data sections for our riders to review after their rides:
- Power Ratio - This section will show the rider's power output vs how much the motor outputs in order to give more insight into the intensity of the ride and reliance on the motor assist.
- Left/Right Pedal Balance - This section shows how much power each pedal reads. The Ultro motors have a dual-sided power meter, which enables us to show our riders how much power each leg outputs. This is good to know in order to identify leg weaknesses and dependencies.
- Distance Per Assist Mode - This section breaks down the total distance ridden in each assist mode.
Available on all ACU-equipped models.
Bug Fixes and Minor Feature Tweaks
As part of every update, we have also included some minor feature tweaks and bug fixes. These include:
- - Customizable Ride Record Rules (how long the bike can sit idle before it begins to start a new Ride Report)
- - Adding configurations for Startup Assist Mode and Headlight Mode
- - A reorganized Main Display Menu
- - Minor Bug Fixes
